HPSI is lead by a dedicated group of professionals, including 6 officers, 13 directors and advisement by the immediate past president.

Each year in May, elections are held for all officers and directors, who will serve for one-year terms. Elections are held by secret ballot. Board members are sworn-in each June at the Graduates' Presentation Event.

In order to be eligible to serve on the Board of Directors, candidates must be members in good standing, graduates of accredited 4-year universities, and elected by the membership. For more information on the positions, please contact George P. Logothetis.

George Logothetis is a Manager at Accenture, one of the world's leading management and technology consulting firms.  Within the Products Operating Group, his primary focus is Retail and Supply Chain consulting for Fortune 500 companies.

George graduated with honors from DePaul University with a Bachelors degree in Information Systems.

Tom Gregory is an attorney at law and practices in his own firm of "GREGORY & LAI" in Barrington, Illinois. He focuses his law practice in the areas of business law, real estate law, estate planning, family law, and personal injury law. Before starting his own practice, Tom worked for a mid-sized law firm in Chicago concentrating in civil litigation. Tom particularly excels as a trial attorney and has tried numerous cases throughout Chicago and the surrounding counties. Compared to other lawyers of similar age and experience, Tom is commonly considered by his peers as an outstanding litigation and trial strategist under 40 years old.

Prior to becoming a lawyer, Tom practiced several years as a Certified Public Accountant for such large accounting firms as Coopers & Lybrand and Price Waterhouse. He gained real world business experiences during those years representing corporate and individual clients. Now, many of his law clients often seek him out for not only legal advice, but also tax and accounting counseling. Tom's unique dual professional background has given him great opportunities and has definitely propelled him to be amongst one of the most exemplary Hellenic professional in the Chicago area.

Effie Magas is a Recruiting Consultant for Fortune 500 companies based in the Chicago-land area. She started her career as a third-party IT recruiter, but in the past several years she has become a key player in the corporate recruiting world, at Fortune 500 companies like Wm. Wrigley Jr. Company, CNA and Allstate Insurance as well as National Consulting firms like Huron Consulting Group and Andersen. Her expertise lies in Executive Recruiting on a National-basis for Finance, Accounting, Engineering, IT, Sales/Marketing and HR professionals. In addition to recruiting, Effie is an active volunteer for Jobs For Youth, where she helps underprivileged youngsters explore career options, learn job-hunting skills, and discover the value of an education. She holds a B.S. in Psychology, with a minor in HR management, from Loyola University in Chicago.

Paul Vranas, is the broker/owner of Vranas Properties, a growing residential real estate brokerage located in Chicago’s Gold Coast. Vranas Properties represents buyers, sellers and developers of real estate in Chicago.

Paul received his MBA from DePaul University and his BA from Illinois Wesleyan University. Prior to working in real estate, Paul joined "Kimawireless.com" where he was a major contributor to the creation of the Kima FM/Link It portable wireless transmitter, a first to market product which has since sold hundreds of thousands of units to major retailers.

Ellen Magas, D.O. is an Emergency Medicine Physician at Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, IL. Dr. Magas recently completed her residency at Resurrection Medical Center in Chicago. She attended Medical School at Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine (CCOM) in Downers Grove, IL. She received her Masters of Science in Physiology from New York Medical College. She attended Loyola University in Chicago for her undergraduate studies where she earned her B.S. in Biology and B.A. in English Literature.

Nikos Tsonis has practiced law for eight years, primarily in corporate law. He now develops commercial and residential real estate in the South Side of Chicago. He is also a partner in a new lounge – Brando’s at 343 S. Dearborn Street. Tsonis graduated from Yale University with a B.A. in philosophy and from Boston University with a J.D./M.B.A degree.

For the past five years, Alex Floutsis has been a Laboratory Manager at Quest Diagnostics in Schaumburg, overseeing a staff of thirty employees at one of the largest Histology laboratories in the UnitedStates. Previously, Alex was a Lab Manager, and he held similar positions for ten years, at a south suburban hospital. He has a Bachelor's Degree in History from Purdue University.

Alex is currently Historian for HPSI, which includes photography for the organization. Alex has been a professional photographer as a sidelight in the past, and he heartily enjoys the position at HPSI.

In the past, Alex has been active in a number of philanthropic endeavors, and he has raised significant funds for missionary trips, including an orphanage in Guatemala. He looks forward to potential future philanthropic opportunities at HPSI.

George has an MBA from the University of Chicago in International Business, Marketing Management, Behavioral Science and Business Policy. He is currently an Executive Recruiter at SRI and a part-time Business Lecturer at Wilbur Wright College . Prior experiences include Project Management at MCI Worldcom; Direct Sales and Web Development at John's Import Foods; Customer Satisfaction and Inventory Control at Velsicol Chemical Corporation. George is the HPSI Quarterly Newsletter Publisher and in the past, has served as Vice President and Recording Secretary.

Paulette Andrews is the head of the Science Department for Springman Middle School in Glenview School District 34 and the current secretary for the Glenview Education Association. She is an educator with 10 years experience as a middle school teacher and has coached junior high cross country, volleyball and softball.

Mrs. Andrews holds a B.S. in Elementary Education and a Masters Degree in Curriculum, Technology and Education Reform, both from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. Paulette also teaches Sunday school and has been a sponsor for GOYA at St. Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church in Niles.

George D. Logothetis is an Assurance Associate with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. PricewaterhouseCoopers (or PwC) is the largest professional services firm in the world. There are 120,000 people employed by the global partnership, in 144 countries around the world, working in four lines of service (audit, assurance, advisory, and tax services) and 22 industry-specialized practices. It is one of the "Big Four" Accounting Firms, along with Ernst & Young, Deloitte., and KPMG.

Within the Assurance practice, George specializes in Assurance & Attestation services to Consumer Industrial Products & Services clients, notably Kraft Foods Inc., headquartered in Northfield, IL.

George graduated from the College of Commerce at DePaul University in November of 2006 with a Bachelors degree in Honors Accounting, Finance and a Minor in Modern Greek.

Frankie Kazas graduated in 2005 with high honors from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a B.S. in Supply Chain Management and a minor in Spanish. He also spent a summer semester studying abroad in Granada, Spain in 2003. While at the University of Illinois, Frankie was heavily involved in the Business Council holding several committee chair positions and serving as the external vice-president. He was also named to the Alumni Association Senior 100 recognizing the top 100 seniors in the university.

Currently, Frankie is an Account Manager with Caterpillar Logistics Services, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Caterpillar Inc. Cat Logistics provides third-party logistics services including inventory management, warehouse management, and transportation management to both Caterpillar and other Fortune 500 companies. Frankie is responsible for managing the contract compliance, customer satisfaction, and financial performance of 3PL services for 20 diverse business units in 7 locations for Emerson. Prior to this position, he also supported logistics services agreements for Bombardier Aerospace and Mosaic Co.

Patti graduated from DePaul University with a B.S. in Marketing. She is currently a Project Manager at Information Resources, Inc. (IRI) working with major consumer packaged goods manufacturers helping them to better understand their business and make strategic decisions in the marketplace. Prior to her experience at IRI, Patti worked with global manufacturers as a Senior Account Associate with ACNielsen's Global Services

Demetra L. Markopoulos, is Vice President, Marketing & Business Development of the Corporation of Automotive Remarketing, Inc. (CAR), the creator of Driveitaway.com, the global leader in upstream remarketing for rental car operators and commercial fleets, and Carliquidators.com. In conjunction with this, and to answer general used car consumer questions, she is spearheading the launch of the “CarsDiva.com” website, the first “Dear Abby” for Web focused used car shoppers, specifically catering to women buyers.

Prior to this, Markopoulos was a Production Supervisor for Univision Communications, and an Int’l Customer Service representative for Harken International. She has a BA from Northwestern University, with a double major in International Studies and Hispanic Studies.

Isidora Kafkas is a nationally certified Physician Assistant. She received her training and Masters in Physician Assistant Studies from Marquette University. Kafkas has experience in Emergency Medicine, and currently works in the Neurology department at Evanston Hospital, focusing on Neuro-Oncology and inpatient care. She is a fellow in the American Academy of Physician Assistants. Her undergraduate degrees are in Biomedical Sciences as well as Spanish Language & Literature. Her strong interests in people, culture and science lead her to pursue a career in medicine. 

Brina Karnava is a secondary education teacher who focuses on subjects including history and language arts. She currently works for the Indian Springs School District where she teaches junior high and high school students. Karnava attended DePaul University where she obtained a bilingual-greek specialization and MEd and is currently pursuing and ESL endorsement. Other interests in the Greek community include being an Ionian village camp counselor, Fanari camp counselor, Sunday school teacher, and Junior Olympics swim coach.
